ABsolute Pilates is Proud to be an affiliate studio for Dark Horse Pilates Workshops, Teacher Training Courses for Certification and Crossover Program for Certified Instructors.
Janice Dulak, Master Teacher Trainer, created Dark Horse Pilates in response to the growing need to bring the work back to the original Pilates culture. A boutique style of Pilates, instead of large group classes or emphasis on fast-paced exercise, we focus on the principles of Centering, Concentration, Control and Precision in order to move the student toward balance and mastery. As part of our mission, we offer a Teacher Training Program for all who are interested in becoming a teacher of the Dark Horse Pilates Method.
Dark Horse Pilates
This training comes directly from Romana to Janice Dulak and is disseminated through Dark Horse Pilates Affiliate Teacher/Mentors and Training Studios.
DHP mission is to train and mentor students and teachers of Pilates, in the original teachings of Romana Kryzanowska as taught to her by Joseph Pilates and given to Janice Dulak as one of Romana’s original chosen "Teacher of Teachers." At Dark Horse Pilates, we hold mastery of the body as our purpose and to that end we endeavor to empower both students and teachers to learn the Pilates Method in an authentic environment with an emphasis on clarity, perfect practice and an intuitive approach to the mastery of the body.
Teacher Training Outline
The journey to become a DHP teacher begins with training with one of our Affiliate Teacher/Mentors.
You will:
• learn the exercises required to enter the program.
• develop the feel of the Powerhouse and Box that are the foundation of the work.
• realize Pilates is not just exercise, but rather, a path toward mastery of the body.
• feel in your own body the change that creates strength and flexibility with control.

Registration Fee: $300
Mentorship Fee: $1000
Course 1 Fee: $1500
Course 1 Evaluation/Testing Fee: $300
Course 2 Fee: $1200
Course 2 Evaluation/Testing Fee: $300
How Do I Become a Dark Horse Pilates Affiliate through the DHP Crossover Program?
Depending on what Pilates certification you have, DHP will work individually with Crossover Applicants.
